Welcome to Wittenberg Lutheran Church!

If you are coming to Wittenberg Lutheran Church for the first time, you might be wondering…

When is worship?

We meet at 10:00 in the sanctuary each Sunday.

Sunday School for adults meets at 9:00.

How do I participate in Sunday worship?

When you come to the sanctuary you’ll receive a bulletin. You will also find everything you need to participate in worship projected on the screen.

We do a lot of standing and sitting, only join in as you are comfortable. Some folks feel more comfortable sitting and you are welcome to remained seated if you wish.

Lastly, if you choose to not worship with us in person, you are welcome to follow along with our service on Facebook Live each Sunday.

What do I wear?

When you visit Wittenberg on a Sunday morning, there’s no need to worry about what you should wear. Wear whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see people in the pews dressed in all styles—from dresses, jeans, suits, and t-shirts.

What happens during the service?

Each service will normally include Bible readings, some prayers and a sermon. During the service the pastor will invite you to greet the people sitting around you and share God’s peace, but no one will single you out as a visitor. We don’t expect visitors to support the congregation financially, so feel free to pass by the offering plate. Many members of the congregation contribute directly through their bank accounts so you won’t be the only one passing by.

What about kids?

If you have children, they are welcome to sit with you in worship. We encourage families to stay in worship as much as possible and don’t mind the chatter of children. A children’s sermon led by the Pastor is included in worship each Sunday. We currently to not have an attended nursery, but there is a nursery room you can use at your convenience. We have a basket of quiet toys and books to keep little hands busy during worship.

Is communion served?

Holy communion is served every Sunday morning, and all are welcome to join in this meal. Our bread is gluten free. There is a choice of red wine or white grape juice. You can indicate your preference to your serve. Our table does not belong to this denomination or this congregations. It is the table of Christ Jesus and all are welcome.

Most members come to the front to receive the elements. If you wish to remain in the pew and receive communion there please let an usher know.
